English Language Society has organized English Week 2023. It was conducted from 16th till 18th October 2023. The main objective of activities is to encourage students and staff using English Language in daily life and also to cultivate culture of speaking English among people of ILPPG. Other than that, it is also a platform to search for talents among students especially in Public Speaking for preparation to join competition organized by JTM.
The activities conducted were Scrabbles (joined by students and staff), Talentime, Technical Spelling Bee, ILPPG Promotional Tiktok videos and public speaking. Organizers are surprised with the numbers of participants joining the activities and all the participants showed very good sports in making the event a success. The Tiktok videos submitted by the students are also very informative in showing the modules taught in each courses. The videos will be used in promoting ILP Pasir Gudang and what interesting is, all of the students speak really well in English! For public speaking, we discovered new talents among the Semester 1 students. The winner of the competition was selected to represent ILP Pasir Gudang in Public Speaking Competition Southern Zone which was held in ILP Bukit Katil.
We hope conducting this event annually can encourage students and staff casually use English Language in their daily life and also discover new talents among the students. Congratulation to all winners and participants.
